LED Lights

LED lights are possibly the best kind of lights one can get for their new place. I sure do hope my house will be one that is equipped fully with LED lights!! Energy-saving, long-lasting and it doesn't emit as much heat as normal bulbs!

One of the places which I am considering getting LED lights for my future house is:

Check out the website, the lights look amazing with warm lights option as well! no simply those ah-bengish LED lights or ultra white options. Definitely a website I will re-visit when considering lightings options. Are there any better and cheaper places you know?? leave me a comment! :)

Books(helves) Paradise!

We love to read! Okay, maybe more like she loves to read and I enjoy reading, not as vigorous a reader, but I still enjoy reading! So bookshelves are a compulsory fixture in our house! If you looked at the plan in the earlier post, you would notice that the plan for the first bedroom is actually a study room. I would love the room to resemble a nice cosy library!

Our HDB flat doesn't have high ceilings, so the one above is probably out, but you get the idea... Nice cosy library-like work area, with probably a sofa or armchair on one end where we can just spend some quality time reading away... Just like the one below

I don't really fancy the colonial style kind of design, but this one is tastefully done up and not too "over".

I love the clean and simple design of this bookshelves and study table, looks so nice and comfy! I wouldn't mind working here for long hours :) Simple colour scheme of black white and grey and the clean and and simple design of the table makes it look so modern and zen. Don't really like those cornices, too tacky! I think cornices are just outdated! Avoid them unless you're able to make it blend really well with your overall design.

The haphazard design of this shelves just make them look so fun and interesting! Nice to have, but important to not fill them all up with simply books! Have accessories in random shelves to make it look really fun.

I really love this bookshelves!! Doesn't need to be haphazard to be fun and creative! This had got to be my favourite full height bookshelf!

This is probably not very feasible, but I'm pretty amazed by the creativity of this one! Its a bookshelf in a stairway! cool!

Bookshelves need not be lined along the walls! They can be on the ceiling as well! Not sure how you're gonna get your books though.. Interesting idea nonetheless..

When I saw this, the engineer in me couldn't help but wonder what numbers and symbols I can put in this equation... Well, this is not an equation theoretically, just an expression (no equal sign)... Ok, the engineer in me digress...

This is damn gimmicky, not really a bookshelf, but those are actually real books! go google it if you're interested to make one for yourself! It's pretty simple actually (but plain gimmicky)

This bookshelf is pretty cool, but not very practical I guess... However, if you have damn a lot of space at home (and a lot of money to spare), quite interesting to have a bookshelf like that!

Which is your favourite?? Or do you have something else even better, more interesting or just a good ol' bookshelf that is just gorgeous! Do share with us!! leave your comments perhaps "Books(helves) Paradise Part 2" will be on the way!

The place where all ideas converge

Before I start diving into the world of fascinating design ideas out there, I think it is only appropriate that the house where I want these ideas to be in be introduced. I present to you our future home, Punggol Topaz!

Why am I posting this news?? Because we freaking applied 7 times before we got a good queue number!!!! FREAKING 7 times!!!! But we were rewarded for our patience... A good number finally. I'm glad it wasn't some number like 100 in a development with 284 5-room units, or else we'll be left with some lousy units that we don't fancy.

Anyway, our queue number

HDB says its gonna look like this.. Can't wait! :D

After all the choosing, we have our choice unit! a 5-room unit on the 12 floor facing (hopfully) a school with (again hopefully) a view of the waterfront /sea nearby. The floor plan

I got so excited, the engineer in me just had to put this into an Autocad program! Thus a Visio floor plan together with how we would like to renovate the place!

If you compare the original floor plan and the Visio version, you would have realised some differences in the Main Bedroom and Bedroom 2 layout. We wanted a walk-in wardrobe so much, we are thinking of converting the main bedroom into a walk-in wardrobe. However, all these are still thoughts-in-progress.. Depending on whatever ideas I might come across and compile into this website!

What do you think? Ideas to share?? please do share it! We love to hear it! :)
